¿Why LONDON?

Let's say that "man is social by nature" as Aristotle rightly said,

Based on the Greek philosopher, I believe that any person throughout his life develops, in one way or another, that social characteristic that is vital for survival. In other words, any person requires human interaction and coexistence in order to be educated, to develop and to reproduce. Further than that, I also believe that every person has a story to tell, so here is mine and the reason why London.

I started planning my move to London during my last stage as a student of a Higher Degree through which, thanks to several factors that happened at that time, the opportunity to do an Erasmus programme with work placement abroad was presented to me. That was something unthinkable and there were a limited number of places available, so I was not willing to let that opportunity pass me by.

After much sacrifice, both in terms of study and financially, only four students from Ciudad Real were chosen to enjoy that unforgettable experience in England which helped us all to learn and for me personally to decide what would be the next chapter of my life.

I was assigned to an AV company based in Dartington, Devon. I travelled all over the South West of England and every three weeks I used to go to London.

I met people from different countries and made friends with whom I'm still in touch. This was perhaps the most beautiful thing, as a great group of friends was created for the rest of the life.

Despite of a couple of problem I 'was in my element', but it was over and the time to return to "La Mancha" arrived. An unforgettable stage had come to an end.

Once I finished my studies, I started working in Spain and it didn't go badly, but my head was still in England. I felt the need to go back there because that Erasmus in 2017 flew by and I still had a lot to discover.

The decision of moving to London was not an easy one to make, especially leaving a good job and breaking the news to my family, but something told me it was the right thing for me, and I had to pack my lugagges.

As soon as I landed in London, I quicky got the feeling that I was not going to regret it. I immediately noticed the charm, the beauty and the good vibes of the city. It felt as if all of that and much more was waiting for me, as if London were a private taxi driver with a sign saying "Mr. A. Hayar, this way".

I soon found a job, which used to be quite easy, unlike now, unfortunately. It's been 3 years since I arrived, I've changed jobs a couple of times and as everyone knows, at this point nothing is like it used to be, but I'm still here. I currently live in King's Cross St. Pancras (the famous Harry Potter station) where I share a small studio apartment with my lovely girlfriend.
